Wow.  I saw her on the show when she was three, but she’s really ballooned since then.

I find this hard to masturbate to.

I know what you mean. Maury Povich has really let himself go.

You look at this girl and see a neglected, poor, overweight person. A McDonalds manager looks at this girl and sees his bonus.

Or his complete and utter ruination.

I see everyone automatically blaming the parents…. I haven’t seen this show, and I don’t know anything about the situation at all, but my first thought was that the child must have a medical problem to make her this large. Has anyone seen the show to know what is up with this kid?

If she just has an eating disorder, then the parents are to blame. I am sure it is difficult to keep a child from eating if they have a severe disorder, but there are things that can be done. I have seen where some parents have had to padlock their fridge. And, this kid seems too big to move under her own power which means the parents are having to bring food to her.

But if this is a medical disorder, it takes some of the blame away from the parents. I saw another show on Discovery Helath about a baby boy with a very rare genetic disease called psuedohypoparathyroidism who was four times the size he should have been.

So… while I am not defending the parents (I can’t because I don’t know the story) I am just saying keep an open mind. If it is a medical disortder I am sure the parents could probably be doing more than they are though, the person in the background that I assume is her mother is over weight as well. This means that the mother either has a lesser form of the same disorder, or she just doesn’t know enough about nutrition to help her daughter… and/or doesn’t have the will power.

Hopefully they did more than gawk at the “freak” on this show… I hope it was one of those episides where they try to get the girl help. At this rate that kid is going to be dead of heart failure before she is 10.

I’m continually surprised that this post gets this much attention more than 3 years later, so here’s some info:

Jessica Gaude: The Fattest Kid in the World.

And no, her weight is not the result of a medical or genetic condition, but simply due to an supremely over-indulgent mother.

This spells abuse to me. The video on that page made me want to shove a liter of coke down her mom’s throat. Where is DHS???

  • ChickenandGrits

    Hahaha, these comments are hilarious!

I think she should be the mascot for America. That photo right there, the gluttony, the illness, Maury’s fake compassion, and the exploitation – that sums up America.

  • Mallory

She has since lost the weight and looks amazing.

  • amy

id rather be anorexic im glad i am now

  • Crystal

Neither is good to be anorexic or obese! I am skinny, I KNOW I am not over weight. I know I don’t need to drop pounds. Yeah that girl is so pretty now :)

  • Maren

I think that the parents are stupid for not caring about her. So I think that she needs to get a better diet. ~Sorry! :(

  • randomperson

she grew to 420. that is so sad. but shes thin now. im 13 years old and at 7 she weighed so much more than i do. good luck to her in the future.

  • lisa

I can not believe all the cracks at this poor child. I feel bad for her. Her mother is to blame because it is not a medical condition that is makeing her so heavy. It’s really sad to see this happening to a child, but its even more disgusting to see these grown adults poke fun at her. What are some of you folks thinking?

  • Tina

Jessica admitted that she was a ‘food addict’ and her mother admitted to endangering the life of her child. However, Jessica started working really hard to lose the weight naturally. She is an absolutely beautiful girl now. She was recently scheduled to have surgery to remove 20 lbs of excess skin. Amazing!!!! I wish Jessica and her mother would create a website that shows her remarkable journey from ‘fattest child’ to a beautiful young lady. What an inspiration that would be for many overweight people. Sure would like to wish her the best luck in the world and congratulate her on her continuing victory over obesity.

  • Ruff

Enough of the getting skinny stories! Whats really interesting is how one doesnt spot a girl big as a house to the point where she needs medical attention!
20lbs excess skin eh? That’s absolutely an accessory a beautiful young lady cant live without – along with crooked legs and surgery scarring so i guess it all ends well.

I like all these people condemning the parents. While they have a lot to answer for, maybe we should be also be pointing fingers at the TV for parading this poor kid in front of millions of people. And maybe those millions of people who sit there gawking at her in the name of entertainment have something to answer for too.
