While we’re on conspiracy theories…

in Miscellany

Occasionally I come across something I enjoy so much I’m compelled to pimp it out to all you fine people.  Just minutes ago I finished the book ”The Librarian“ by Larry Beinhart the man who wrote Amerian Hero, which would go on to be made into the fine, fine film, ”Wag the Dog“.

We do a lot of political stuff here, both funny and not, but I only wish I could put out something as truly engaging, funny, and scary-as-hell as “The Librarian”.  Basically, the plot concerns a nebbish librarian (go figure) who goes to work for an aging conservative money-machine and manages to get wrapped up in a truly jaw-dropping plot to ensure the next presidential election goes to the encumbent, Gus Scott, who should remind you quite a bit of our current Commander-in-Chief.

It’s a fiction book that’s couched all too well in actual events of our day and it should serve as a good reminder as to why information is truly the only weapon that can either be used to chain us or to keep us free from tyranny.  It all depends on whether we decide we wish to posess it.

Go buy this book. You shall not be disappointed.
