Mercury astronaut Gordon Cooper passed awayimage

One of my heroes is dead.  The Mercury astronauts were men above men.  Such bravery should not go unnoticed.  Besides, Dennis Quaid played him eloquently in The Right Stuff.  I’m sad.

I agree that the Mercury program and the astronauts did tremendous benefit for the US space program.  Although most people don’t view the mercury program in an important light like the Apollo program.  I think in many ways it was more significant and achieved more of the daring firsts.  Not to mention it got Yager on the map at the same time!!!!

Look at that man. He comes from a time when men were expected to be men and his default facial expression is a stern scowl. His hair is trim, neat, and masculine – Like God intended.
