This has turned out to be a good Fall/Winter for the movies, but nothing on this earth gets me more excited than the prospect of seeing another Wes Anderson film.  Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, and The Royal Tenenbaums are three off my all time favorite films, and I have no doubt that Life Aquatic will soon be joining the list.

With a cast and crew like this, it’ll be hard for this film to be anything other than wonderful.  And as an ad in Variety said a couple of days ago: Won’t someone please give Bill Murray an Oscar already? click for the trailer

They’ll never do it, but when he is so old he can’t speak they might give him a life time award.

But I’ll probably never know because I gave up on watching those things… and chicago getting best picture really nailed the coffin lid shut.

You know they report those results in other places now, Inoir.

Your favorites huh?  How come none of them made it into your top comedies in the forums?  Tenebaums is pretty good, Rushmore is okay, Bottle Rocket is not.

I classify Rushmore and Royal closer to the drama side. And I know that Bottle Rocket isn’t one of the great comedies, it’s just one of my favorites.

The Royal Tennenbaums is one of my all time favorite movies, too!  I am also very excited for this movie.  Bill Murray way my first girlhood crush. <3

Bottle Rocket has got to be the greatest heist film of our time, yet it gets zero appreciation. And the rest of Anderson’s films are genius as well. Life Aquatic, I assume, will be like the rest – only the fans will see it, and it will get no recognition. (Sorry to be the naysayer, but think about it – I Heart Huckabees is practically already at the cheapie theaters and it starts Dustin Muhfuh Hoffman!)

(Not that Huckabees is an Anderson flick, but you get my drift.)
