A unique exploration in animationimage

Latvian artist, Kriss Salmanis makes multiple stencils and paints them over various locations.  Then he takes pictures of said stencils and lines up the frames.  The work by Salmanis is based on a Latvian heroic tale about a mythical beast resembling a bear.  The artist has done the work as a process – creating a figure for the hero and the movements, processing the pictures serially into a cityscape, and finally combining the pictures into animation.
