Scott (who’s username was unfortunately not included in his delightful missive) sent this little bad-boy to us, and I’m eternally grateful.
Guerilla marketing at it’s finest.
Oh, how embarassing. I thought he sounded like he was choking something back.
According to the gent who sent it to me, it was entirely on purpose.
That’s the most embarrassing thing I have ever seen. Oh man. But, if it was on purpose, then that guy is a genius. I doubt it is though… Who can make themselves vomit without sticking their finger down their throat or anything?
It’s not that hard actually. You just make yourself cough as hard as you can.
or if you are like me and can flex your stomache a few times, get it upset and up you go.
No way was that on purpose. The guy was obviously very nervous throughout the interview, tried to hold it back, and was genuinely ashamed after he did it. And why would you sabotage your own movie promotion?
Because any publicity is good publicity.
I wouldn’t go so far as to call that publicity.
In this day and age, that counts as publicity. I’m unwilling to dimiss the idea that it wasn’t done as a prank. I know that if I were planning on intentionally blowing chunk all over the local newsdesk, I’d probably try to act like it was an accident.
i don’t know. that nervous quiver he had in his voice would be really hard to fake unless he were genuinely petrified of being in front of the camera. If that’s acting, then he’s a pretty damned talented actor.
Well, Columbia Missouri is a hotbed of thespian activity.
But publicity for what?
Wow. You didn’t pay attention at ALL. Publicity for his film and for the film festival.
Oh, yeah, that totally makes sense why he would throw up on local TV, then make that into a viral, worldwide ad campaign for his local film festival (which is over) and his movie that you can’t buy anywhere. What a marketing genius.
he generated spin for at least his next project or festival… and for free. hell I bet that is the graphic on the next flier he makes.
I prefer the tara reid tittie slip out promotion.
I take back the tara reid comment, since she got them shopped I just can’t seem to like them.
down w/ plastic… cuz your kids will still be ugly..
No kidding, that’s some wicked scarring.
it’s like finding a pube in your food. it’s just wrong.
girls just be happy. boys quit promoting this
I was really bored watching this video until the person being interviewed threw up all over the desk.
hahahahhaha, these comments are hysterical. The link is too, but these comments made my day. I think it wasn’t on purpose because as Haserhud said, who can really make themselves do that? Granted Alphamonkey I’m sure it’s possible when you cough really hard- but no coughing was involved with our good friend here. He just sat there and vomited all over the news desk.
Assumingly any publicity is good publicity, but I still have no extra incentive to watch the monkey space movie. And if hes faking it someone sign him up a deal because he’s pale and extremely reserved as one would be when ill.
However, on the point of alphamonkey it DOES look like hes smiling at the very end. I originally thought out of the fact that he was thinking “What could I possibly do now that would leave me with any dignity left at all?” and knowing the answer is nothing.
Well for one, there are a multitude of products and substances that can make you ill enough to hurl. Secondly, you don’t actually have to cough to push those muscles into expelling the contents of your stomach all over the newslady’s desk. (I ran a constant temp of 99 most of high school, so if I wanted to bail, I went to the nurse’s office and make myself sick. Tres simple.)
It may very well have been a hilarious accident, I’m just basing my opinion on the fucked up actions of my actor and filmaker friends.
I smile when I’m embarassed. That’s all I thought that was.
Bottom line, if this was supposed to be a viral ad campaign it sucks. I think if he was doing it to promote something he would have had an ad on his shirt, or at least overlaid a URL on the video. Even if I wanted to see more like this, the video doesn’t tell me where to go.
I’m w/ alpha. these “creative” people are so desperate for attention they will do anything to get more.
if you ever try ipecac… that is like a direct link to the ralph nerve. sadly this was no dare for me… just my own stupid curious nature.
