Why not build a 34 foot tall functioning Mech in your backyard?

Holy crap!

My cup doth indeed runneth over. Now, this may be a nifty little viral marketing ploy like the Mini-Cooper robot (bastards!), but I sure hope it isn’t. Man, that is just damn cool.

although the veracity of this is made less likely by the fact that there are any number of genius computer nerds who would be more than willing to fly to alaska on their own coin and help him slavishly. and they haven’t.

Looks legitimate, but I don’t think it’ll ever work.  Balance, especially when walking, is a very complex process, and I don’t think he’ll achieve it with a few hydraulic pistons.  Take a look at how complex some of the bipedal robot experiments at places like MIT are.  I’m not saying he absolutely can’t do it, but he doesn’t seem to have the experience in robotics to achieve his goals, especially on such a large scale.

    Still, it looks cool.
