Fun stuff here, kids. The Historic Tale Construction Kit! It’s a Flash app that lets you make your own Medevial Timey scroll complete with the text of your choice.  To which I can only say: Verily, but it is awesome.  Bonus for being able to e-mail the finished product to your friends, family, and parole officers.  So make some good stuff and send it our way.

I’ve been playing with this for awhile now.

It’s actually images from the Bayeux Tapestry, which tells the story of the Battle of Hastings and William the Conqueror’s ascension to the British throne in 1066.

The original is embroidered linen and took ten years to make (1073-1083).  It’s 230 feet long!

Although the original is gone from the web, a redone version can be found at http://bayeux.datensalat.net
