in Diversions has comprised a list of what they consider the 50 best screen deaths in Cinema.  I like that they expanded the scope and took in action/sci-fi films.  Though I was saddened that one of my fav’s only ranked at #40

Actually, the best one that comes to my mind is from Bourne Identity.  A CIA agent hunting down Bourne at the farmhouse gets shot in a field by Bourne.  No dramatic speeches or cries of agony – his CIA training breeds a bit of nonchalance at his impending extinction, and yet he questions his entire life one simple sentence: “look what they make you give for it”.

Perfect thing for him to say, and brilliantly acted.

how the fuck did scream make the top 10? god damn brit’s can’t get anything right.

what about natural born killers… and he’ll I’d take any of the major death scenes, especially wayne gayle or tommy lee jones.

I guess technically it wouldn’t count because it wasn’t “on screen” but Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid should’ve been on there because we all know they were going to die so I say it’s just more artistically done.

that is a fantastic ending, to butch and sundance.

sorry I have a bit of love for NBK, I would take any death scene from the movie over most in the top 10 on that list. but that is me
