Get your Live on

Wilco finally got some Grammy action for “A Ghost is Born”, which considering that the zombie corpse of Ray Charles pulled home like 8 of ‘em, doesn’t mean that much I guess. (I love ya Ray, but your best work stopped comin’ in the early 70’s.) Transbuddha favorites, Los Lonely Boys also took one home for their aural crime against humanity, Heaven.

Anyway, Wilco remains one of my absolute favorite contemporary bands even though they’re treading suspiciously proggy waters nowadays.  Jeff Tweedy and the gang just put up their November show at the Filmore for your streamin’ pleasure over at their site WilcoWeb, so go get some and drown out your cubemates and whatever crap they’re listening to.

did you see Wilco’s going to be at Wakarusa in Lawrence,ks this summer! you should check it out AM. a little hippiefest might be just what you need…

I’m w/ you I think the newer stuff lacks something… not sure what.

Oh, I don’t think the newer stuff is lacking, it’s just moving in a direction that, were any other group to do it, would have lost me.  I’m curious to see if Tweedy will swing back around to the Being There/Summerteeth area.

I’ve seen Wilco oodles of times..i’m not sure if I can handle the entirety of Wakarusa just for them…I’d rather see Wilco in a smaller venue, which is usually what they play in KC.

I listened to the cd a couple more times this weekend. and while I like it more, but to me, there seems something missing.

I try and jam as much music and partying in as possible. and to a certain size I like festivals. very liberating and comfortable.
