Ossie Davis: 1917-2005

Ossie Davis was found passed away in his hotel room yesterday.  In addition to being a stage and film actor, Davis was a prominent civil rights activist who spoke at both Martin Luther King, Jr and Malcom X’s funerals.  I’ll always think of him as JFK from Bubba Ho-Tep, but he was that kind of guy you just wanted to be your granddad.  What a cool guy.  ‘Night, Ossie.

    True that, alphamonkey.

He was a man that deserves great respect.  I’ve always liked him.

    Rest in peace, sir.
