Okay, okay I give.  I’ve been sent this video approximately a hundred times.  On first viewing I utterly hated it, but as more and more people sent it it, I watched it again and with each subsequent viewing I liked it a little more.

Now, I’ll still hold that miming ranks just beneath stapling puppies for comedic value, but this guy is actually really, really good.  His expressions are what truly make it work for me.

Click for actual mime goodness.

Does he count as a mime if he’s using music for his act?

Regardless, that was a small slice of awesome pie.

Yeah, he’s got music, he’s not dressed up like a mime.. this looks like a mime bit done by a non-mime.  And thank god for that – “mimes suck” is one of those foundational laws that helps everything else in this world make sense.  It’s an anchor of human consciousness.  If this guy were an entertaining mime, I might go insane.

Who ever said mimes can’t use music?  They just can’t talk.

Whether he was doing sign interpretation or what, it’s still pantomime..so the word still fits

Nope, his name’s David Armand. He’s from the British comedy troupe The Hollow Men (they’re hilarious, BTW).
