Being frozen for 32,000 years has a tendency to kill most life forms.  That is, unless that life form is a “new” species of bacteria discovered in an artic tunnel, as this article details. The discovery gives scientists hope that the recently discovered ice ocean on Mars holds forms of life in this suspended state, which would provide an interesting look into life on that planet and how it differes from similar life forms on earth. Another major point of interest to scientists is that the enzyme and proteins that these bacteria use to reanimate themselves once they thaw could prove useful in preserving tissue samples and useful in cryogenic freezing technologies.
