Here’s a thought you should roll around your skull a little: There is now a Best of He-Man DVD available.  No, really. BEST OF.  HE-MAN.  Say that out loud.  Does it make you or your co-workers laugh?

Before you get all misty eyed and nostalgic thinking about how great that cartoon was, why don’t you take a look at this?

Doesn’t seem so special now, does it? Yah, I didn’t think so.

Here’s how I sum up He-Man:  In one episode, He-Man is riding a rocket that is heading toward outspace.  Reasonable enough, right?  Here’s his dialogue: ”If this rocket reaches the upper atmosphere I….won’t be able to breathe!  I’ve….got…..to…..turn…it!“ At which point He-Man punches the rocket thereby changing it’s trajectory via the power of his mighty fists.

It’s enough to make you reach for a Barbie.  Dear Hollywood:  Why did you treat us kids so badly? Was non-crap really too much to ask for?  Masters of the Universe?  These clowns weren’t even the masters of their own domain.

The sad thing about this whole affair is that someone you know will probably buy that Best of He-Man DVD.  Mark my words.
