In the Event of a Moon Disaster…

Listening to the touchdown of the shuttle yesterday turned out to be a more tense and suspenseful experience that I would have thought.  Kudos all around for our astronauts safe return.

But lets’ face it:  our forays into space have been sorely lacking.  Where are the jetpacks?  Mars vacation packages? Dirtsurfing the Sea of Tranquility? *sigh*

Anyway, The Smoking Gun printed the speech that would have been read by Nixon had Armstrong and Aldrin been trapped on the moon.  Neat stuff.

Do you think there’s that one astronaut who pushes their way to the door?
