Ministry Messiah

What do you get when you mix Aphex Twinesque music with a graduate art student reading The Inferno while having just ingested 4 hits of acid and various animal tranquilizers?  Why, Ministry Messiah by Gene Apsits, of course.

Seriously though – this is a moderately f’ed up piece (I mean that as a compliment).  I’m sure it’s supposed to be rife with symbolism and Christ figures (the guy with “Jesus” tattooed on his knuckles, perhaps?) and all that other stuff you learned in high school English, but all I got from it was, “f’ed up”.  And very cool.

The creator is a Latvian artist known for his work for companies like Diesel and Benetton – and who is known amongst my high-brow circles as “the guy whose last name sounds dangerously close to “Ape Tits”… or alternatively, “the dude that does animations with trout eating baby angels”… take your pick!

Be sure to check out some of the art on his site.  Some really cool pieces… oh and some more f’ed up stuff.

Wow. I think I’ve just been reduced to playing with spoons for the rest of my life.
