As some of you may know, alphamonkey was married this weekend (by an officiating mrcookieface, no less) and most of the Buddha has been out of office to take part in the event and epic merry-making. The resulting celebration has left us a bit more tuckered out than previously anticipated, so we’re calling it another snow day.

Before we begin our long and arduous journey back to home and a normal post schedule we will leave you with a few important lessons we’ve learned:

1.  Don’t hire a DJ whose dayjob is selling cars.

2.  Don’t assume there are three steps in the dark.

3.  Never, never, never try to outdrink the monkey.

    Well, a hearty congrats, alphamonkey!

    Congrats, alphamonkey and alphamokeyette!

  • Pragmatist

Grats alphamonkey, and I hope you guys recover well

  • .alphamonkey.

I’m not the one with recovering to do.  It’s the rest of the gang that thought they could keep up with me with the issues.

Thanks for the kind words and wishes, everyone.

  • mrcookieface

He’s right about the recovery.  I watched alphamonkey take on two separate challengers shot for shot on Thursday night.  He won with ease.

He’s either got a special gland that negates the effects of alcohol, a liver the size of Rhode Island, or most probably, he’s a mutant.

I’m opting with theory number three.

Contratulations, AM!  (yes, I’m still alive.)

    Congratulations, Mrs. AM!

May you be fruitful and multiply.

  • .alphamonkey.

Yah, we were wondering about that.  Glad you’re still coming around.  You know you’ve always been the Buddha crew’s favorite..heh.

Thanks, and I hope you’re doing well.

congrats! it’s weird to visualize the happening with a tuxedo monkey, a drunk good reverend (or that was afterwards?) and all the transbuddhists gathered… sort of a lisergic wedding smile

my best wishes to the both of you

No tux for the monkey.  A good suit did me fine.  And sadly, we were berift of The Rev’s presence.  mrcookieface stood in for him in both the officiating capacty and the drinking.

  • japhy

hehe i misread the officiating part… wink

maybe i got my fantasy running too much. but still a monkey in a tux is a lifetime experience 😀

  • The Good Reverend

Yes, he and wife opted to hold the ceremony far from Transbuddhaville in hopes of keeping us from the wedding and preventing the shame on his family that would naturally result.

  • .alphamonkey.

    Yah, that was it.

  • Thundarr

A great weekend culminating in a beautiful ceremony and some heavy drinkin’ at the reception!  And let me say until you have heard ZolarCzakl perform Total Eclipse of the Heart you haven’t really lived.

  • The Scarlet Harlot

I agree ZolarCzakl’s performance of Total Eclipse of the Heart was quite moving, I’m still holding the lighter.

Greetings from Seattle!  How is the ankle mrcookieface? (See lessons learned, number 2)

  • fullmetal

Hmm… I must have missed the wedding, I’m sorry, I could swear that I was outside the building, then this green light… And then… Uhh…. I was saying what? Oh yeah, then the hotdog was dancing, then he went behind me, and I coudnt quite see him because my head seemed to be attached to something… And then he disappeared forever… Hey, has your butt ever itched so bad that you have to get off the chair, stand up, and itch to make it stop? then it comes back and you have to do it 7 times until you go home and find the Gold Bond?

  • .alphamonkey.

I think you mis-read your dosage.

  • Thundarr

    Drunks are so cute

  • fullmetal
