The Residents have always been the kind of band that appeals to people who think Captain Beefheart is too accessible and mainstream.  In 1976 they released ‘Third Reich And Roll” an cover album done as only The Residents could.  Here’s a promo spot for their version of Land of 1000 Dances

Uh, yah.  Sorry about that.

Dude!  My roommate/very good friend has the DVD of Residents music videos. They are so unabashedly art-studentesque. It’s awesome, and catchy… but gah! Creepy.

Be assured that your very own MonkeeDoo owns Third Reich and Roll, and loves it intensely.  Would love all the Transies out there to give their best guesses as to who the Residents are.

Surely Laurie Anderson is in there.  There, I said it.
