Three cheers for the coolest music teacher of all time: Brian Udelhofen, who took the Minnetonka High School Percussion Ensemble (whom he teaches) and taught them to perform the opening tracks off of DJ Shadow’s “Endtroducing”

(clicky clicky for video of their live performance)

Cool.  Can you book them for clubs?

this is awesome.  Other than a couple misses where Shadow gets tricky with the time sig, they were bang on.  I only wish the music teacher would have recruited a couple choral members to provide the haunting chants from the original track.

Great, now I have to clean my room and dig up my old Endtroducing album.

Mine’s filed under D, for DJ.

And those were high school students.  Give’em five more years and they’ll knock the pants off’ya.

That was awesome.  Hopefully they’ll learn High Noon next.  Props to the music teacher who legitimizes DJ Shadow to his students.
