The Postal Service – Such Great Heights

With all the hullaballoo about Apple (& their ad group TBWA\Chiat\Day)’s misappropriation of Postal Service’s ’Such Great Heights‘ video, I think it’s worth noting that the video in and of itself is phenomenal (as is the tune).  Feast some eyeball action.

For shame, Apple.

That makes no sense to me.  How could you hate one and not the other?

You may be arguing that these clips (the music video and the ad) look like each other. Lets try looking back to the true father of these clips, the movie THX 1138. For shame Postal Service and Apple… this was done back in 1971 and it was better. Watch the original LucasFilm masterpiece if you don’t believe me. The best movie George Lucas ever made PERIOD.

I don’t necessarily agree.  There’s only the tangent of a relationship between this and THX 1138.  You could just as easily argue it’s relationship to 2001.

I like the fact that it looks like it says “Sue MTV2” in the top right corner…

Yah, it’s the little things in life that make it great.
