Where No Man Has Gone Before

Here’s the sharpest view of the Orion Nebula mankind has ever seen.  And it’s interactive.

Ah, much thanks to the Hubble telescope.  Plagued by bugs, burned with bureaucratic red tape, and horribly underappreciated; this lil’ machine is going to earn her place in astrological history despite NASA’s reluctance for repairs.

The impending death of Hubble makes me hate NASA.

    This link is awesome, though.

This was a while ago, and I haven’t checked up recently, but the NASA’s proposal for a Hubble repair budget was denied by the government, and instead they were granted a retrieval budget to try and bring the Hubble back in one piece.

I am told by a friend of mine in the FAA that this is because they will eventually replace it with a new telescope.

In any case, more pretty, pretty Hubble pictures. Yay..!
