Bert Monroy made this photoshop file of the chicago skyline that “Took eleven months, flattened file weighs in at 1.7 Gigabytes and the overall image contains over 15,000 layers.” That’s dedication.

Like every other type of modern media, photoshop is just blurring the line between imagination and reality. Is that necessarily a good thing?

I’d argue the benefits outweigh the pitfalls.  The availability of artistic tools to a wider audience ultimately encourages the creation of art, and fosters an appreciation of the mediums which would otherwise remain in the realm of the underground.

Granted, that means that the level of mediocrity and blandness rises as well, but that’s the price we pay for having art in the first place.
