mrcookieface dug up this old timey gem of Nirvana’s first appearance on Saturday Night Live.  Talk about a perfect example of ‘the more things change, the more they stay the same’.  After all, while Krist Novoselic no longer has any hair, Rob Morrow is still on television.  It’s like a cosmic balance.

I don’t have time to watch it.

tell me this is the clip where kurt spins around on the fake exhaust fan?

Balls. That was such an interesting time for music. I miss those days.

oh come on w/ mecha rock gods like yellowcard… oh god I can’t even finish that satire.

music has gravitated too close to polical and other annoying social scenes. I almost cherish for the days of bands lighting their leather pants on fire and putting umlauts in their name. why can’t rock just be rock. damn you eddie vedder… love the tunes but u inspired a pack of idiots.

I don’t find it surprising that public tastes have shifted to bands that are heavier on the irony and commentary.  Thankfully, there’s still a a goodly cachet of bands out there just putting out good rock music, warts and all.

too true. but where is the new lemmy… i’m positive he’s been behind the rash of clamydia outbreaks in the world.
