Sinead O’Connor – You Do Something to Me

Yesterday Shout! Factory released the Red, Hot + Blue DVD and CD, making it the first time some of those videos have been available since 1990 when the cd was initially released by the Red Hot Organization.  I’ve always dug that album, and it stands out in my mind as one of the first really big compilation/tribute CDs.  But hey, it’s hard to go wrong with the then biggest stars of the day covering Cole Porter.  Double bonus for all the money going to the aforementioned Red Hot Org which does work to further A.I.D.S. research and awareness.

I was always torn between the Pogues and Kristy MacColl’s Miss Otis Regrets/Just One of those Things and Sinead O’Connor’s version of You Do Something to Me as my favorite tracks, but Sinead wins the best video award with her Veronica lake wig and damn sultry performance.  So dig on a pre-crazy Sinead doing You Do Something to Me.

There’s more clips from the set on the Red Hot site, but damn if this isn’t a set worth owning.
