Yah, so we posted a Police clip a few days ago, I know.  I’ve just been revisiting their catalogue and I keep getting hit with the ‘Holy monkey, but these guys were #@$!ing great’ attacks.  So with that in mind, here’s the video for their near-perfect pop gem, Every Breath You Take.  It’s a cool video and all, but I keep thinking ‘Wait!  Sting and Patrick Swayze had the same haircut!’

I first saw this a couple decades ago in one of the first video sets in a bar in Salem, Oregon. State of the art at the time. What impressed me about this video was the simplicity of it all, and today I still feel that the best music videos are the ones that showcase the artist singing or playing, a few shots of the backup and no B.S. artistic fade-outs, explosions or story boards. Black and white is quite effective, too. As for the hair–hey, looks pretty good to me.
