Convert, Kill, or Destroy

Talk to Action has a lengthy write-up about the game Left Behind: Eternal Forces where players try to convert Jews, Catholics, and non Christians, and kill those they can’t convert.  Alternately, you can play as the Anti Christ and kill all the Christians.  Classy.  Even more classy is that it’s being endorsed by Rick Warren, king of the mega church and author of “A Purpose Driven Life”.

Think they’ll shut up about Grand Theft Auto now?

So, when a couple of Christian kids kill non-Christians, and they’ve played this game, will the media come down on Christianity as bad as it came down on, say, Marilyn Manson after Columbine? Will Atheists be able to protest outside of Christian music concerts? Will teary-eyed parents go on the news and give CNN exclusive interviews wherein they deplore the freedom of religion in America and beg for change?

I need to know these things. I have to plan ahead.

    um wow…I’m scared now.

As a dirty heathen, I am offended by this.

As long as they leave us Secular Humanists alone I don’t mind what they do. I tried being a Dirty Heathen but I only managed to be a Grubby Heathen.

All of the anti-violence hard core christian groups have just had their speaking privileges removed.

if you read a bit killing is not really endorsed, but it is an option. it’s about conversion.

oh and the moderate christians are the true enemy in this game… that’s hillarious.

and personally, I don’t like my enemy stepping in a trap they made for me… we have so many other ways to bring down the church than this.

Yes, killing is really endorsed. That’s why the Christian commandos in Left Behind: Eternal Forces shout “Praise the Lord!” after a fresh New Yorker kill.

Here’s an update from Talk to Action on how Left Behind Games and an in-game ad company called Double Fusion plan to track the gamers as they play Left Behind: Eternal Forces.

“It’s cutting-edge Israeli technology—a piece of software inserted directly into Left Behind: Eternal Forces, software that cannot be blocked or removed—and without your knowledge or permission, it tracks you. This in-game ad software records how often you play the video game, at what time of day and for how long, what game play areas you visit (like Times Square, Soho, Chinatown, or the United Nations Building), which video ads and product placements you view, where your computer is located geographically, and who you are demographically. It monitors your choices and behavior, collates data, and reports back in real-time to… whom? For what purposes? Do you know?” READ ON: http://www.talk2action.org/story/2006/6/21/23153/9497
