Quintron and Miss Pussycat are a New Orleans duo that well, it’s kinda hard to describe.  There are puppets, singing, and a really kickass device called the Drum Buddy.  Blow 10 minutes of your day and check ‘em out on this Public Access show clip.  As Dong Resin from Screenhead put it, it’s the best thing you’ll see all day.

I’m pretty sure you need to be under the influence of at least one mind-altering drug to find this entertaining in the slightest. Being at work, I did not have that prerequisite handy and thus found it a wasted ten minutes. Or I would have before I realized that if I wasn’t watching it, I would be actually working… *shudder*

I’ll watch more of this some other time, when my brain doesn’t feel like it’s going to explode from sheer confusion after a minute. I do want a drum buddy though.

I have seen this outfit live. It was one of the most bizarre, yet, memorable experiences of my concert-going career. They opened for The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion in Dallas, TX. At the time, the Drum Buddy was for sale and you could have one of your very own! Actually, it is a rather interesting, quirky analog device. One of the coolest things is the key to turn it on. Well, that, and the fact that it it uses an incandescent bulb to make the sound. Viva la Quintron & Miss Pussycat! -Cheers, reshimo

I’m a huge fan of Quintron & Miss Pussycat. I also just happen to live about 2 minutes from their Spellcaster Lodge. The Drum Buddy is one of the most awesome things ever invented.
