Rupert Vs. Dusty

On the other side of that ‘is the market stupid’ equation is this clip, which on the surface is the chronicle of what happens when a 500lb rubber band ball hits the side of a Toyota Camry.  Now, I’ll concede there’s a slim chance this is a legit home-made video, but it has ‘viral media’ written all over it.  Well done viral media, but an ad still the same.  Even though the car is obviously not a new model, the fact that the camera lingers on the untouched driver’s side (a fact which is commented on by the narrator) just seems to tailor made for a subtle attempt at linking Toyota with safety.

What do you think?  Cleverly done viral or just proof that I’m a raving paranoid?

I’d put my money on viral.

I’m not sure if it’s real, but if it’s a viral, I bet it’s for the rubber band company. That’s a well crafted rubber band ball, there. Pee-wee would be put to shame. Other than that, I can confirm that they are all out to get you.

Viral or not, it kinda breaks my heart.  My first car was a cool 84 Camry that same pink/brown color.  Good times…..
