PictureHistory has a great section on photos of American life from the 30s and 40s, a period of time which is a source of endless fascination for me.
Those are some amazing shots. The clarity is what blows me away. We’re used to either black and white or grainy images from the time, which separates it. Almost makes it feel unreal, like a time we couldn’t imagine. But these pictures are practically as clear as anything we can do today. Really puts you there like nothing I’ve seen before.
