Academics have been warning us for years, and now their ignored pleas have come to fruition:  We’ve made David Hasselhoff the King of the Internet.  At least, that is if this ISP commercial is any judge.

    Has anyone else noticed that Hasselhoff’s sole function in pop culture these days is self-parody? From his Spongebob Squarepants cameo to this, that’s really all he seems to be good for. Well, that and judging the 2006 version of The Gong Show… er, I mean the highly original America’s Got Talent.

    But I must sadly point out again, that even in his self-mocking whorishness, he still makes more money doing it than the rest of us put together.  Sigh…
