Thank You, Masked Man

In 1966 Lenny Bruce teamed up with animator Jeff Hale to do an animated short based of Bruce’s ’Thank You, Masked Man‘ bit, which was later made available on one of the Lenny Bruce DVDs.  While by no means is this one of Bruce’s more outrageous bits, it’s a bit out there for it’s time.  Thankfully, the years have been kind to it.  Enjoy.

And really, it’s Lenny Bruce.  Do I really have to say ‘NSFW’?

Update: I’m an idiot.  I put the release date down instead of when the clip was actually begun as a project.  Thanks to mackthespoon for pointing out that rather dumb error on my part since, as he noted in the comments, Lenny Bruce had been dead for 5 years in 1971.  I blame IMDB and Knob Creek bourbon.

In 1971, Lenny Bruce didn’t actually “team up” with anybody as much as simply “be dead,” which he’d actually been doing for the past 5 years. The audio here is from a live (that is, pre-death) show.

    Good stuff, tho’.
