The Dandy Warhols – Not If You Were the Last Junkie On Earth

I’ve always thought that the Dandy Warhols were a great metaphor for the late 90s music.  Promising and talented, they never really hit their mark until they let go of the need for indie cred and embraced those influences that best fit them.  Really, folks.  Pop is not a dirty word.  It’s time we all accepted that.

This somewhat unwieldy clip for ’Not If You Were the Last Junkie On Earth‘ is rather apt, considering it came from their equally uneven debut.  You can see the germination of a really good band here, just as you can see the traces of a really cool video.  Too bad it’s just a little too bogged down with unnecessary weirdness.

Hey I like pop, well, finely crafted pop songs. The good ones are drowned in a sea of crap.

i was particularly fond of the leggy needle dancers. heh
