NBC rightfully took a lot of heat for it’s initial attitude towards sites like YouTube, even though stuff like Lazy Sunday actually increased interest in the network. Now NBC has turned around and decided to embrace the user video community; even going so far as to upload it’s promo spots, which has raised the ire of those who wanted YouTube to remain free of corporate interest (hint: too late!). With a good deal of cheek and aplomb, NBC put out this clip to thumb their nose at those YouTube purists while at the same time pimp itself a little harder.
Well done, I say. Well done. The clip carries just the right balance of smarm and self-deprecation to get the job done right.
