While this isn’t what I’d call a particularly interesting video, I will say that I’ve been listening to Camera Obscura’s ‘Let’s Get Out of This Country’ nearly nonstop for weeks now, after finding myself more and more curious about the band after the ’Lloyd, I’m Ready to be Heartbroken‘ clip we did a ways back.  So dig on the title track ’Let’s Get Out of This Country‘.

Thanks for these! I’ve recently been digging their performance on the KCRW “Morning Becomes Eclectic” podcast. This band is fulfilling my yearning for new Sundays material.

How coincidental that you’d say that.  I was just thinking last night how they sounded like a version of the Sundays more influenced by Ameri-Pop.

Cool. Check out that podcast. It’s at iTunes. The band does two sets of songs, for a total of about eight, and an interview in between. I haven’t heard the CD, but if these videos are any indication, their live sound brings the Sundays to mind even more.

Ah, well I got the album after “Hey Lloyd”, and the music is good, but none of the album clicked with me anywhere near like how “Hey Lloyd” did (and still does, love that song).  Interesting thing I’ve found with the album is it is a fantastic background album.  Nothing so catching to distract me, but absolutely wonderful ambient music.

I think the album would have been almost as good if they had “Lloyd” as all ten tracks. Kind of like that Bjork “Army of Me” album.
