Blur – Coffee & TV

Let’s return to 1999 for Blur’s ’Coffee & TV‘ off their album, ‘13’.  Hammer & Tongs did this animation-tastic clip, which I’ve always enjoyed.

Now that I think of it, 1999 was a pretty damn good year for rock music.  There’s a goodly chunk of some of my all-time favorite albums on the release list that year: ‘The Soft Bulletin’ (Flaming Lips), ‘Midnight Vultures’ (Beck), ‘Summerteeth’ (Wilco), ‘Do The Collapse’ (Guided by Voices), and ‘Utopia Parkway’ (Fountains of Wayne), which makes up for the fact that Cher’s ‘Believe’ was the #1 single of the year in my book.

And potentially (IMHO), the best year for movies, as I have told many:

Payback, Office Space, Ravenous, The Matrix, Go, Election, Run Lola Run, Drop Dead Gorgeous, South Park – Bigger, Longer and Uncut, The Iron Giant, The Sixth Sense, American Beauty, Fight Club, Being John Malkovich, Princess Mononoke, Dogma, Sleepy Hollow, Toy Story 2, Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, The Green Mile, Magnolia

So plenty I probably left out plus a few some people would stick their nose up at, but for me, my favorite year in the theaters.
