Here’s a live clip of Mick and boys tearing through ‘Honkey Tonk Woman’ on Top of the Pops in July of 1969.  What’s interesting about this clip is that it was filmed just hours after the Stones had been told that co-founder Brian Jones had died the night before.  The next day, the Stones would debut Mick Taylor to the public at large at a free concert in Hyde Park.

    From a comment on YouTube:

“Everybody read carefully here…This clip was NOT done just hours after they learned of Brian’s death. This is from *another* TOTP appearance, taped on December 12, 1969, which aired on a Christmas edition of the show.”

Hmm..  I do know they appeared on ToTP the day before their Hyde Park show.  I wonder if that one is out there somewhere, then.

I guess this is what I get for not reading comments, ne?
