This bittersweet animation is a brilliant look at defying expectations. Check out ’Kiwi‘, directed by Dony Permedi.
totally don’t get the part with the rope. what’s going on with that? somebody please explain…
That was the most beautiful story ever. I shed a tear watching it.
(The rope was to make the tree stand out straight, so it wouldn’t seem like it was hanging off the side of a cliff.)
ah, yes. now I see it! thank you. and yes, what a wonderful video.
The thud at the very end is a heartbreaker.
Awsome, simply awsome.
God, that’s sad.
why is it sad? Wile E. Coyote dropped off plenty a cliff only to dust himself off and get up to try again.
we didn’t actually see the little guy go SPLAT and die.
I didn’t think it was sad.
The feeling to me was of intense beauty of idea. Something that hit home so hard I shed a tear for the little guy, pretty much at the same point that he shed a tear.
Imagine being a bird with no wings. Imagine never feeling the air sweep through your feathers. You see other birds fly but you can never join them. That is, until you get this great idea……..
…that results in your death.
Sometimes death is a price worth paying.
That was beautiful.
Good advice to give anyone: Make sure you live before you die. That’s what I got out of it, anyway.
maybe it is saying if you keep trying to do something you just werent meant to, youll end up getting hurt =p
Wow, a whole lot of work went into fulfilling his dreams. At least it looked like it was worth it to him even if it was the last thing he ever did.
Hmm maybe the moral is. IF you live your dreams then no matter how long your life is it was worth living.
