The Presets – Are You The One?

As I’m still very much fascinated with the Softlightes ‘Heart Made of Sound’ clip, I decided to do a little digging and see what else had been done by the director Kris Moyes.  Well not only did Moyes direct Cut Copy’s ‘Going Nowhere’ promo that we showed late last year, Moyes also directed this excellent (and way lo-budget) clip for The Presets ’Are You The One‘, which you should take a look at right now.

No surprise there, since vocalist Kim Moyes is his brother, but this is an amazingly well put together clip.  I’ll confess that, in the beginning, I mistook the transitional effects for digital artifacts from errors in the clip, but after the first few you see how intentional they are, and how beautifully they’re used.  Can you tell that I really dig this clip?  Musically it sounds like NIN got smacked hard by some disco, which immediately wins my attention for 3 minutes.  So go on already, watch ‘Are You the One’ and dig on Moyes’s kickass style.

The Presets, you’ll remember, had that awesome Girl and the Sea clip from back in February.
