When Jack Met Steve

BoingBoing hipped me to this great clip of Jack Kerouac being interviewed by Steve Allen in 1959.  It’s a great interview (and damn, don’t you wish interview shows were that laid back still?), and the clip ends with Allen reminiscing about the interview.  Keen!

Big thanks to the now required reading site PCL LinkDump for uploading the clip.

thanks for turning me on to this.  I teach H.S. and this is a great way to talk about the Beat generation, poetry and liturature.

Awesome.  I hope you use Kerouac as an example of a football player writing poetry.

I do… I also use Alan Page.  MN Viking award winning player and now Supreme Court chief justice.
