Meet Bruce Lee

By 1964, Bruce Lee had been featured in some 20 films in his native China, but an ‘untested’ Chinese actor in Hollywood had a number of hurdles to jump.  Here’s a screen test Bruce Lee did (shortly around the time of his famous appearance at the Long Beach International Karate Championships), which eventually landed him the Kato role in The Green Hornet.  Most screen tests I’ve seen are rather dull, but here you get to see Lee put his fight choreography skills on display with a very, very skittish Assistant Director.

Holy crap, that man was fast

Man I’ve seen this a couple times before and it’s always amazing.  You are definitely right about that speed, it is just crazy.

Let me state for the record that I, too, would be quite skittish too. Quite.

The funniest part is that the guy reacts well after he does the move.  Bruce was that fucking fast.

I wish he was still alive…..
