SNL Gets Funny?

I’ve long held that adding the Lonely Island kids to the writing and production staff of Saturday Night Live might be the smartest move the NBC workhorse has made in years, and stuff like ’Lazy Sunday‘, the Apocalypto trailer re-cut, and this weekend’s ’Dick in a Box‘ only cements that belief.  Even with bleeping the lyrics during broadcast, this Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake song is waaaaay beyond the pale for SNL.  It’s almost Mr. Show.

Thanks to those fine folk over at Dragon Head Almost Destroyed Me for the heads up.

yeah.. the Lonely Island boys should be the entire writing team for SNL. They’re funnier than the last 10 years put together on a bad day. Is it too much to ask to want “kids in the hall” caliber sketch comedy these days?
