The Year In Music Videos – March

March brought us the first glimpses of the full on awesomeness of modern Japanese music, as well as a return to good time rock n’ roll.  Throw in some stuff from a band that wishes they were Jodeci, and you’ve got yourself a fine month in music videos.  Oddly enough, this was a light month for what I’d consider great music video posts.  Must be the jittery nature of knowing Spring was around the corner.

  • Polysics – I Me Mine: This brain-punch of a clip wins on a couple points.  First up: Japanese.  Second: Insane song.  Third: Some seriously funky pop and locking.
  • Eagles of Death Metal – I Want You So Hard: Hearkening back to the ‘changing reality through the power of rock’ days, this EoDM clip is just a lot of fun.
  • The New Pornographers – Sing Me Spanish Techno: I’m not a huge fan of this band, but I will say they know their way around a good video.
  • Chromeo – Rage: More throwback love from the kings of Neu Jew Funk.  Good times, people. Good times.
  • Super Furry Animals – Not the End of the World: Oddly enough, there was a time when everything we posted wasn’t animation.  I’m still trying to figure how that happened, and frankly I blame this beautiful (if sad) clip from Super Furry Animals.
