The Hollywood Foreign Press gathered for their annual gala last night. The party included wine, fine dining, preening starlets, and the Governator. Oh, and they gave away some shiny trophies, too. Winners included Martin Scorsese as Best Director for The Departed, Letters from Iwo Jima for Best Foreign Film, and Cars rolled away with the award for Best Animated Film. Helen Mirren (The Queen) and Meryl Streep (The Devil Wears Prada) won Best Actress in their categories while Sasha Baron Coen (Borat) and Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland) took home the awards for Best Actor. And just to show they enjoy a good joke, the obnoxiously loud Dreamgirls was sent home with three Golden Globes including Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy). In terms of the tube Ugly Betty was a big winner for star America Ferrera and for Best TV Series (Musical or Comedy). For the full set of winners check out the official site.
