It’s Wednesday so it must be time to take a gander at the new stack of comic book titles hitting the shelves today.  So get your comic book geek on, and let’s take a look, shall we?

This week’s fun includes Bullet Points, Conan and the Midnight God, Detective Comics, Marvel Adventures Spider-Man, Scalped, Star Wars: Legacy, Superman, and more graphic novels than you could shake a stick at including Crisis Aftermath: The Battle for Bludhaven, Ghost Rider: Road to Damnation, Green Lantern Archives Vol. 6, Iron Man: Armor Wars, and The Messengers.  Okay, you probably could shake a stick at all of ‘em, but why bother?

So true believers, sit back and relax as we take a look at the comics hitting your local newsstands, bookstores, and comic shops this week, ‘Buddha style.  (The snide asides were thrown in for free)

All Star Superman #6 – Superman returns to Smallville to mourn the loss of ‘Pa Kent, but what is Mr. Mxyzptlk up to? [$2.99]

Detective Comics #827 – An all new Ventriloquist!  Wasn’t the old one enough? [$2.99]

Justice League Unlimited #29 – Anything that includes B’wana Beast and Animal Man has to make our list.  The plot, who cares – it’s B’wana Beast and Animal Man! [$2.25]

Manhunter #27 – The Unites States vs. Wonder Woman.  I don’t know, the U.S. might need some help to balance the fight. [$2.99]

Superman #658 – Superman finds himself in a horrific future where heroes, villains and lunatics are fighting to the death for what’s left of the world.  Well, he wanted a vacation. [$2.99]

Bullet Points #3 – In an alternate timeline all caused by a single bullet Peter Parker is the Hulk, Steve Rogers is Iron Man, and Reed Richards is an agent of S.H.E.I.L.D. [$2.99]

Fantastic Four: The End #4 – Separated and scattered to the far corners of the solar system the heroes battle their most dangerous enemies including Super-Skrull and the Mole Man.  You think Puppet Master, the Trapster, Klaw, and Diablo will show up? [$2.99]

Iron Man: Hyperelocity #1 – Tony Stark finds himself in the middle of a war between “the bleeding-edge technology of insurgent mecha subculture and the massed hardware of an elite cape-killing paramilitary force.” Yeah, I don’t know what that means either. [$2.99]

Marvel Adventures Spider-Man #23 – Peter faces a new humiliation – going clothes shopping with Aunt May. [$2.99]

Red Prophet: The Tales of Alvin Maker #5 – The comic book version of Orson Scott Card’s magic tale of an alternate American frontier as Tenskwa-Tawa takes Alvin to meet the “Red Prophet.” [$2.99]

Conan and the Midnight God #1 – Conan finally has his kingdom and queen, but when his country is attacked by a Stygian sorcerer all of Stygia will learn it’s not a good idea to anger a Cimmerian. [$2.99]

The Exterminators #13 – The Bug-Bee-Gone boys (there’s an awesome name for ya) bury one of their own as Henry tries to fight off an infestation in the hospital ward. [$2.99]

Midnighter #3 – Ever wonder why you don’t mess with the time stream?  The Midnighter is about to find out. [$2.99]

Scalped #1 – Dash Bad Horse returns to the Prarie Rose Indian Reservation after fifteen years to find a casino, drugs, and organized crime hae taken over in the first issue of this new monthly series. [$2.99]
