Al Franken for Senate?

I was so saddened by Al Franken’s descent into playing the Left’s version of Bill O’Reilly via his books and his Air America stints, all the more so since I’ve been a fan of his comedy writing for a long, long time.  However, it seems like he’s finally realized that being Left firebrand isn’t nearly as worthwhile to his causes as actually dedicating himself to the serving the public in the manner he’s so often advocated for others.

Yup, Al Franken is running for Senate via the great state of Minnesota.  That’s interesting in and of itself, but I was really taken by his announcement, as it’s a really interesting way to introduce himself to his potential voters who might not know him as anything other than Stuart, or that guy that hates Rush Limbaugh so much.

I wonder if Garrison Keillor will take this sitting down?
