I Always Knew There Was Something Creepy About Robert Goulet

Here’s one of my favorite ads from the Super Bowl which is bizarre enough to be memorable for the commercial – and the product it’s advertising.  Totally unexpected joy is often the best.  Enjoy the hidden life of Robert Goulet brought to you by Emerald Nuts.

This was the another one I liked (out of three).

Robert Goulet is a dick, and it’s glorius. If I were Robert Goulet, I’d be a dick too.

I didn’t find it funny in the least, and I was heavily medicated when I saw it first. Seeing as that makes me the prime demographic, I consider it a failure.

*shrug* chalk it up to Robert Goulet name making me chuckle. Say it with me: Goulet.

I’m not saying it was ground-breaking, but compared to the rest, at least it was interesting. I was also ‘medicated’ at the time (nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more), and thought the Garmin ad rocked, if that tells you anything.

In what was obviously a down year for Super Bowl commericals, as everybody decided to play it safe, I just liked the sheer wackiness of this completely unexpected turn from a company I forgot even existed.

And Goulet is funny to say.  Goulet.
