Kansas City is celebrating one of it’s own, director Robert Altman. For three days and two nights The Robert Altman Festival will run at the Granada Theater in Kansas City, Kansas; the newly refurbished theater was used by Altman for his 1996 film Kansas City. Seven of Altman’s films will be screened (more details on the titles as availability is confirmed), three on Saturday, three on Sunday, and one to jump start the festival Friday night with a reception. Tickets will be $8 per screening and festival passes will be offered, to view all seven films, for $30. The proceeds will go to benefit The Film Society of Greater Kansas City. So if you are near, or plan to be, or are just a huge Altman fan, start thinking about taking a trip our way to watch the work of one of America’s most distinct filmmakers. More to come!
