Escape From New York (Again?)

“Call Me Snake.” John Carpenter and Kurt Russell‘s most memorable team-up was 1981’s Escape From New York, a kick-ass low-budget nihilistic futuristic sci-fi adventure.  Enjoy this trailer to Carpenter’s second best flick (second only to Halloween).

But wait, Hollywood and screenwriter Ben Nolan think they can remake it better.  Gerard Butler has been chosen as the new Plissken.  What’s next, a new THX 1138 with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie?  I have to go vomit now.

Stop with the re-makes already! God, I hate the movie industry.

Strangely, while I hate that the movie industry does stuff like this, I would love to see someone go back and remake all my favorite video games from 1985-1994.

Of course, even the jump from 1940s video/audio to HD isn’t quite the same as the jump from, say, Hillsfar to NWN2.
