Koji Kondo-Videogames Live

Sure, we’ve seen a multitude of videos on the net from people playing video game themes with guitar or piano. But how often do you get the chance to see the actual composer take a crack at it? Koji Kondo has produced the music for many of Nintendo’s flagship titles, such as Mario, Zelda, and Starfox, just to name a few. Seen here rehearsing for his performance at the Videogames Live Concert on March 9th.

Here’s some footage of the concert itself (Koji Kondo, at Videogames Live:), but be warned, it’s not the best quality. Though it does start out with the water world song, and that’s alright with me. For some more Nintendo goodness, I’ve included some footage from “Play! A videogame symphony” (Zelda-Play! A Videogame Synphony), a full blown symphonic cover of some Zelda tunes, written by, you guessed it, Koji Kondo. Get your chill on, and enjoy what I consider to be the soundtracks of my childhood.

Thanks for cleaning that up for me. I can’t think straight in the morning.

Oh, and I’d be remiss in not mentioning that I’m such a nerd that the Zelda Medley still gives my goosebumps.
