April 2007

While I’m not hypnotized by Robert Goulet, I’ve been listening to My Morning Jacket’s amazing ‘Z’, so I thought I’d throw up this flashback video (Jan. 2006) for ’Off the Record‘.

I’ve long been a fan of the FoxyTunes add-on for Firefox, but this last update just put them right over the edge into AwesomeTown.  FoxyTunes Planet acts as a music portal that will gather up YouTube, Pandora, Google, Last.FM, and Rhapsody media for the artist, as well as related lyrics, Amazon products, and Flickr photos.  That’s just sweet.

10 Zen Web Monkeys has a great run-down of Pulp Fiction parodies and mash-ups currently rocking out on YouTube.

Some of them may be familiar to you, but I’ll confess to never having seen this feltastic take on the film classic.

Let’s face it, true believers:  I’m just so stupid crazy for Spider-Man.  That said, my deep seated resentment for Alan over at RazorFine getting to see Spider-Man 3 before me knows no bounds.  However, I shall let that pass (until I read his review) and just lay down some sweet, sweet Supaidâ-Man love.  Oh yah, if you thought the American Spider-Man show was insane, you need to check out the stats on how my favorite web-slinger was treated by the Land of the Rising Sun.

So enjoy this wonderful intro to the Japanese Spider-Man show from the 70’s, and rest assured my monkey butt will be firmly planted in a theater seat on Friday.

Speaking of LazydayGamer, dig on this sweet, sweet mash-up beauty of a game they showcased entitled P.O.D., from the excellent Indie Flash Arcade.

Combining the best elements of Missile Command and Space Invaders, you must protect your city from a relentless horde of not-so-friendly aliens with nothing more than your tank and some sweet power-ups.

And because we all know I’m a big game dork, I’ll be posting over there on occasion as well.  So go check ‘em out already.

Goulet Snooze BarsWhile I wasn’t as much of a fan of Robert Goulet’s turn in the Emerald Nuts spot for this year’s Super Bowl, I’m completely hypnotized by the tie-in site, Goulet’s Snooze Bars which lets you listen to Goulet crooning lullaby classics and jingles for his sleep inducing candy bar (which I can only assume greatly facilitates his tearing up your office).

I seriously had this running on repeat for well over 2 hours while working on site revamps.

Super duper thanks to Shadow for the hipping-of.

We’re starting summer a little early as we gear up to the first big popcorn flick of May, Spider-Man 3!  That’s right folks, it’s Spidey Week over at RazorFine.  All week we’ll mix in some Spidey content with our regular dose of quixotic awesomeness!  We’ll take a look at Spidey on the big and small screen and delve into his comic origins and look at some of the best Spidey moments in both print and screen.

Watching this just made me giggle constantly. Basically Aardman animation crossed with humour of a 8 year old. Wondered its used to test out new animators. Long but it becomes endearing after a while.
